INTERCLUB 30 MILE TIME TRIAL

SUNDAY 7th OCTOBER

Race Report by Mick Ward: Mid-Shropshire Wheelers promoted their final Time Trial event of the season with their annual Inter:club 30 on an undulating circuit starting at Cruckton and taking in the A5 bypass, Ford ,Halfway House, Westbury and Nox before starting a second circuit finishing between Yockleton and Nox.

For the 9 Mids riders there were two trophies up for grabs with the Mid-Shropshire Wheelers Victory Trophy and the Jeff Passant Memorial Trophy for 30 Mile handicap, with Neil Coles and Andy Tamplin the likely winners for the Victory trophy.

On a cool but dry morning with very little breeze, 19 riders faced the timekeepers watch and true to form the favourites didn't disappoint, with Andrew Tamplin not only taking the Victory Trophy with an excellent time of 1:12:56, but also winning the handicap trophy by 2mins 24 seconds from second placed Neil Coles. Fastest overall was Wrekinsport's speed merchant Andrew Bason who broke the course record with an excellent time of 1:05:21 .
