2008 was Dennis's best season yet. In addition to receiving Club, Association and Regional VTTA  awards he earned National VTTA recognition during his 81st year as follows;

• 10m Champion; Gold Medal, Jersey, Ken Matthews Cup
• 25m Champion; G/Medal, Jersey, Merit Cup,C W Cooke Trophy.                                    
• Most Meritorious Performance 2008; Gold Medal.
• Charlie Cole Cup; Best plus at 25m (ever!)
• Cecil Paget Cup;  Best plus at 50m.

Dennis set and improved on, where shown, the following Age Records (actual times)

• 10m; 23.39 then 22.56
• 25m; 1.01.16 then 1.00.04,then 59.15 then 59.13!  (The "inside the hour" rides were on consecutive days!)
• 50m, 2.05.51
