Present Their Open 50 Mile Time Trial on Sunday 11th May 2008
incorporating Round - 3 of the Hawk sponsored Shropshire Cycling Clubs Association Points Series and 50 Mile SCCA Championship.

Promoted for and on behalf of Cycling Time Trials under their Rules & Regulations.

Course: D50/3R Start Time: 07.30 hrs.

Headquarters: The New Raven Café - Prees Heath – Open from 06.30 The Café is adjacent to Prees Island A41/A49 intersection 3 miles SE of Whitchurch. At the request of the café owner please park on the hard standing between the café and A41 or on the periphery of the café car park but not in front of it to prevent obstructing other customers to the café.

Competitors Notes: - Each competitor must sign on when collecting numbers at the headquarters.

Please use extreme caution when leaving HQ to ride to the start, and please ride in single file when riding to the start and when returning to the HQ after finishing.

Riders should be aware that the road narrows at Sandford Bridge on the A41–please take extra care. Also there is the possibility of cattle crossing just north of the bridge.

Competitors will be given a voucher with this start sheet, which entitles them to a free drink at the café.

Course Details –D50/3R
Start on the A49, Prees Bye-Pass, on the Southside of the bridge at the metal bridge joint.
Proceed north on A49 to Prees Island - 2.76 miles
Take 3rd exit along A41 (note: - 1st exit is to car park) and proceed to Tern Hill Island - 9.78 miles
Take first exit and proceed on A53 through Mueller Island to Market Drayton Island -12.73 miles.
Encircle Island and retrace via Mueller Island to Tern Hill Island - 15.79 miles.
Take 2nd exit and proceed along the A53 to Espley Island - 19.12 miles
Take the 1st exit onto the A442 and proceed to Shawbirch Island - 28.51 miles.
Encircle the Island and proceed on the A442 to Espley Island - 37.94 miles
Take 3rd exit and retrace on the A53 and to Tern Hill Island - 41.28miles.
Take the 1st exit and retrace along A41and to Prees Island - 48.20 miles.
Take 1st exit onto A49 and continue to finish past Holly Farm Nurseries at south end of long lay-by on right in line of two metal grids – 50.03 miles

IN THE INTERESTS OF YOUR OWN SAFETY, Cycling Time Trials and the event secretary strongly advise you to wear a HARD SHELL HELMET that meets an internationally accepted safety standard
