Origins: Founded in 1925 with a strong racing bias, MSW has produced many National Champions over the widest possible age (and distance!) range plus riders of World and Olympic standard.
British Cycling Clubmark: Go-Ride Clubmark Accreditation was awarded in 2006. MSW joined 18 other pioneering clubs across the country (read more).
Members take part in a wide range of cycling disciplines, as well as triathlons.
The 1km cycle circuit at the Shrewsbury Sports Village was an MSW initiative and, is the envy of many much larger towns/cities.
The Club organises Time Trials [Enter on the Line and Open events], Road and Circuit Races plus Cyclo-Cross events
Circuit Session: Every Tuesday evening Oct to April [novices] and every Thursday evening throughout the year [experienced riders] Both sessions commence at 7.00 pm.
Club Runs: Leave the Sports Village most Sunday mornings at 9.30 pm
The Cyclists Touring Club (CTC), Shropshire has a number of sections which organise social rides on four days each week which we recommend: Shropshire CTC
Social: Members meet for a drink and a natter after the Evening 10s at the Lion Inn, Westbury and after the Thursday track session in the (licensed!) cafeteria at Sundorne Sports Village.
