Origins: Founded in 1925 with a strong racing bias, MSW has produced many National Champions over the widest possible age (and distance!) range plus riders of World and Olympic standard.

British Cycling Clubmark: Accreditation was awarded in 2006.

A strong Triathlon section - riders compete at National and European standard.

The recently opened 1km cycle circuit at the Shrewsbury Sports Village was an MSW initiative and, is the envy of many much larger towns/cities.

Time Trials: Two Open Events( 25, and 50 miles) Evening 10s every Tuesday May - August, The Hare and Hounds, Cruckton.

Circuit Session: Shrewsbury Sports Village 7.00 pm every Thursday and Junior Excells section; Saturday mornings 10.30 for 11.00 (suitable bikes available for juniors) Contact: Dave Nicholas.

Club Runs: "Off Season" training runs and "club run" on the circuit Tuesday evenings, 7.00 pm September to April.

MSW members have always done their social riding with the various Shrewsbury CTC sections who run five or six outings each week ranging from X Rides to pensioner's potters!

Social: Members meet for a drink and a natter after the Evening 10s at the Hare and Hounds, and after the Thursday track session in the (licensed!) cafeteria at the Sports Village
